Vini. Vidi. Walkidi...
We came. We saw. We walked...
(and walked and walked)
In October 2003 we took a little trip. We started by going to Moab, UT. After one night along
the Colorado river, we entered Arches National Park. We camped in Devil's Garden campground.
While at Arches, we hiked to Landscape Arch along with about another eight or nine arches.
The kids' favorite, by far, was Sand Dune Arch. It is located in a sand-filled slot between
two giant fins of sandstone. Like a day at the beach, without the ocean, but with plenty of
much-appreciated shade.
After three awesome days and two nights at Arches, we headed off to Goblin Valley State Park.
The kids had a blast walking amongst, hiding behind, and climbing all over the "Goblins". In
an early morning jaunt, we even entered into a connected area where a portion of the movie
"Galaxy Quest" was filmed.
Five miles from Goblin Valley, we found an awesome place to hike. Little Wild Horse Canyon
is an amazing slot canyon. The word amazing doesn't do the canyon justice. Our hike started
out in a somewhat plain desert sand wash. After about a five minute walk, the canyon came
into view. Fifteen minutes later, we were in some very narrow slots where the two canyon walls
come together so tight that our shoes did not touch the canyon floor.
All in all...It was an Awesome Vacation
